Sign of things to come

I hope Not. Got the New 3400RL home today. Got it all leveled and went to connect the city water and had a leak. I thought ok its not tight enough, so I tightened it more, still leaking..Changed to another hose leaking again. Tried a little teflon tape still leaking. Took the white ring off so I could try and hand tighten it better and you guessed it still leaking. I would guess about a 16th of an inch in from the end there were three small pinholes. Anyone ever see this before? The Dealer wanted me to bring it back in but I chose to take the part off myself and took it to them and got a New one. Got it installed and No leak, whoooooot And yes its gas tape thats all I had

Image is too large, please re-size it.

the hose seal should be against a washer in the female side of the connection. the threads only apply pressure to the washer. thread seal tape is totally unnecessary. what does the male end of your hose look like? the tape may have stopped the leak, but is not the way that a hose connection is designed to seal

Common problem on the new rigs. The hose seat is deeper than previous models. Ours did the same exact thing, I remedied it by adding another hose washer to the connection, not a problem since.

I know but the leak was not coming from the threads on the male side like I thought. The tape did nothing to fix the leak. The Female side had three pin holes in it causing the leak. If you look close at the picture you can see the spray stream shooting out.

Go over to Tinypic.com, it resizes pictures.
Glad you got it resolved, not to worry, with thousands of parts, bound to have something amiss.

Yup! A thousand parts rolling in the same direction (hopefully). May this be the only problem you ever have with your new Monty. Congratulations - enjoy!

RVing is a hands on hobby. It is part of the experience. I spend at least a little time each week doing something to, or because of my RV. It is a life style. Personally, I love it. IMHO Larry PS DW says Monty is the other woman.

Had the same issue, the thin brass corrodes easily. Replaced the hose end with a solid brass end and no more issues. Threads into the fitting on the trailer mush easier too.
