Kitchen Faucet "Dura" Brand

We have the Dura Kitchen Faucet. When you turn the water handle all the way up to give the full blast of water it makes a thumping nose and no water. You can turn on your head and get no water. Let it sit for a small amount of time turn on the water slowly and works. If you remember to turn on the water slowly then to the the full force works fine everytime. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is before we replace the whole fixture? When it first started we thought the water was off in the park but a quick check in the bathroom proved otherwise. All other water supplies work in the the RV.

It is the one piece that comes out as a sprayer also. We tried pushing the button on the faucet head with no luck.

Could you have some debris in the filter? Remove the filter screen and inspect.

I seem to remember a post like this a while back. I thought there was some sort of check valve??? that was sticking or malfunctioning. A quick search for "kitchen faucet" revealed this: http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...kitchen,faucet where it talks about the check valve.
You might be able to find more using the search function.

You can pretty much cure it by doing two things, and it will also triple the flow rate. Shut down the city water, disconnect the sorayer hose from the supply on the underside of the faucet. Take a pair of small tweezers and pull out all the plastic items you find inside the end of the hose. Reconnect the lower end of the hose and remove the sprayer from the other end of the hose and do the same, remove all the plastic garbage from that end and reattach the sprayer. Now go turn on the water and check for leaks and turn on the sink faucet and be surprised at the major flow increase... All those plastic items were put in there to restrict the flow. The flow of water in the rig through the small pipes is small enough without these extra restricters...
