Leaking shower/bath

Well, I just got the leaking tub fixed. Turned out that it was an incorrect factory install. Seems that the cut into the storage area to run the drain line was in the wrong spot so the drain was not only not straight it was wedged against the floor so when you stepped on the drain it had no place to move. That meant that through time it worked the seals loose and there was my leak. Cut the hole bigger, straighted out the pipe and all appears to be well. My wife is in the tub as I type this and seems to work fine.

Looking to see if my insurance covers it. If not I will probably try to run it by Keystone...small chance though.

Now, all I have to finish is the leak at the holding tank drain connection. May need to wait for warmer weather. Will keep you posted.

Great fix, Mike. You may get the hang of this full timer gig yet. Have you tackled shackles yet?

Mike,
I kind of believe that almost all the rigs have been built that way. It seems to be the norm. Ours, built in 2000 was the same way. Others have said that the same thing was wrong with theirs -- they had the same leak.

We have a 2008 3000RK with just the shower.. no garden tub.. but when they installed the shower the tail piece was against one of the aluminum braces.. I had to cut away part of the brace so the tail piece would not move when you step in the shower.. so far after a month no shower leaks in the basement.. not a very good factory install...but I fixed it...

Just found out that my insurance will cover the replacement of my grey water holding tank...all except $16/hr on labor. Since my policy is 6 years old, the labor cap is $89/hr, my shop here charges $105. Estimated time is 8 hr of labor so for $128 give or take I think I will have the shop take care of it. Looks like a couple of weeks to get the tank form Keystone. Will let you know how it goes.

Stiles I had the shop replace the shackles. Mine were enlongated, so, thanks for the heads up.

Good news about your gray tank, Mike. $128 sure beats $840 and those tanks aren't cheap either. That was probably a more than a return on your premium for that extended warranty.
