O'Leno State Park (Florida)

This weekend has been spent in preparation for our second trip with Bella. We are leaving for O'Leno State Park on Thursday and will be there through Monday.

We will be "caravaning" with my parents and another couple all with our 5ers. There is an annual square dance get together there and my parents have been going there for quite a number of years. This year we'll be tagging along for the trip. We do not square dance, but the group of people who do are great and we always have fun when we attend any square dancing events with my parents.

Doug and Dad have been working on the final installation of the generator in the the bed directly behind the cab of "Bruto". He had a modification done to the muffler which required a 20 minute welding job (that's including the measuring, cutting, fitting and welding) and he and Dad are quite happy with the results. Doug has set it up to take both 50 amps plug for Bella and plug in for 110 as well (for house if/as needed). Quite an impressive install...all nice and neat with all wiring conduit, nice weather proof electrical boxes, etc.

I have been puttering around the inside of Bella doing the inventory for what I've used and what I need to replace or purchase for this particular trip. I got the velcro fasteners for the "puck" lights for the inside of the pantry (or washer/dryer cabinet) so I can see inside without a flashlight. I figured out how I am going to hang up the wall clock I purchased...just have to get a couple of screws and dig out the picture hanging wire.

O'Leno is just north of Gainesville (about an hour and a half hour drive north from "home base") and is riverside. Hope to get the opportunity for some nice photos of the flora and fauna.

Weather has finally started to "act" like fall in Florida so leaving the unit open and the a/c off is now a likelihood rather than a hoped for possibility! Look forward to being able to run the awning out and sit outside in the camp chairs.

Will keep you posted on the trip and the campground!

We are just south of Gainesville and the weather is just beautiful. With the windows open it is perfect and even a little chilly in the evening. Should be a great time at O'Leno SP.
