Replacing wheel skirting!

I could use some of the expert help from you Monty repairmen! I blew two steel belted tires on my Monty during my last trip out. I've replaced all four tires but, of course, when the tires blew (40 miles apart on the PA turnpike)they ripped the wheel skirting off! I have ordered the skirt and it DOESN'T LOOK that hard to replace it! If any of you do-it-yourselfers have replaced it, do you have any "little tricks" to make the job easier? Thanks for your input in advance!

It should be a straight forward change. I lost a tire and had to replace mine on my last trailer. It did have putty tape under the skirt for the screws to go through. Not sure if the Monty uses tape.

If the screws ripped the holes out, I would think speed nuts would work very well to re-attach the wheel skirts with.

These are commonly available at auto parts stores. The screws that hold the skirts are most likely a #8 sheet metal screw. Speed nuts are available in various sizes.

I have to replace one of mine - caught the buffer wheel on the short skirt section that mounts to the slide out and cracked it. My dealer recommended RTV under the edge of the skirt and supplied a caulk tube of the good GE RTV in white with the skirt set. Looks like you need to be frugal with the edge application and clean it quickly to just seal the skirt to the coach - under the screws.
