What model level are you having issues with?

Bighorn. Much of the interior has interchangeable trim with other levels except for the fancier trim parts. I suspect the outer rubber seals are all the same. We reupholstered the interior with Katskin leather which seems fine. I prefer the Bighorn package but DW had to have leather.

My 15 F250 has not let me down yet. Outside of the def heater my truck has been spot on. I have pulled my 03 3480 RL over 30,000 miles and the truck has been solid so far. There have been a couple recalls. Computer stuff but nothing major. The newer 6.7's are even better than the early years. the 15 was a great improvement over the 14 M/Y. I would defiantly buy another Ford except they put all this camera stuff in them. I just want a truck I drive not some truck that tells me not to change lanes when I want to. When I to I pay super attention to what I am doing and know better than some computer under the seat. This will be my last new truck.

Pretty sure the lower trim level Fords and probably other brands can still be had without all those bells and whistles. Maybe special order higher trim levels without some of those.

I always special order my trucks. There are so many options you couldn’t possibly find the truck you wont on a lot even there were trucks on the lots.

Looks like in 2021 Ram went back to the reliable CP3 pump. In 2017 GM replaced the problematic Bosch CP4.2 and went to the Denso CP4. I believe Ford is still using the Bosch CP4 on the current Powerstroke.

We ultimately decided on a 2019 Chevy Silverado HD 3500 crew cab dually to pull our 2021 Montana 3121. I do believe all 3 would do the job but it comes down to preference. The Ram seems to be the workhorse of the group but our Chevy is very very comfortable. We have no problems pulling our 5th wheel. I will say we are somewhat disappointed in that there is no rear ac for our dogs. We have the LTZ model too! I have added fans that hang off the headrest pointing toward them and it helps. Figure out what suits you but honestly don't think you could go wrong with any of them. Looks at features and what you want! Good luck!

I would stick with the Ram. I have had MANY less issues with Ram trucks. My last Ford was in the shop 16 times in 9 months. My last GM truck just was uncomfortable and never measured up, and was one little thing after another. My current Ram has 175k miles and would replace it with another Ram if I had to get another one.

If you work on your truck get a RAM

Hi. I've always liked and owned Ford's. But when I bought my last and current truck - 2017 RAM 3500 SRW Laramie longhorn with a high output Cummins and an Aisin tranny. It came down to my ability to work on the truck (for me). The Ford and GM will probably beat my Ram from 0 -'60'mph, but that's not what I bought my truck for. Just take a look under the hood, the Ford and GM"s are "plumbing nightmares" (my opinion) compared to the RAM. On my RAM I believe I can change my water pump in a couple of hours start to finish. On youtube I watched a professional mechanic change the water pump on a Ford 6.7 and it took him MORE than a 8 hour shift to complete (he didn't pull the cab on the video I watched). If you plan to always have the dealer do the work (and stuff will break - water pump, alternator, etc) then I would buy the truck that I liked the best - might have been a Ford powerstoke, but if I want to work on it then I think RAM is the truck (also, a lot more room around the straight 6 vs either of the V-8's). This is just my opinion, take it for what that's worth. Good luck.

I have a 3021RL Legacy and run at about 14,400 lbs. fully loaded. I had a 2019 Ford F250 SWR 4WD, but the kingpin weight was just about tapped out which made me nervous. I just bought a 2022 F350, longbed that gives me an extra 1000 lbs of kingpin / cargo weight capacity, 4100 lbs which I'll never need but am glad I have and I have a 30k GVWR with a 21K 5th wheel towing capacity. More than enough truck now but had to go with the longbed to get the max capacities. That's okay, I'm liking the greater turning radius too.

Where the F250 was getting 9 mpg on avg I just got back from a 3800 mile trip where I avg'd just over 11 mpg over hill and dale, along with thru the mountains. Same diesel engine, basically same truck, only thing different is the weight ratings, beefed up suspension and gear ratio. Clearly the F350 doesn't have to work as hard as the F250 did.

Not sure on the electrical issue, it is an intermittent problem but when it happens, about every warning light comes on, lose the power steering as well as the rear air suspension.

Just curious what kind of towing mileage you get with your SRW/ DRW models.
I've got a 2015 GMC 3500 crew cab, long bed, SRW 4X4 and I get 11 on average pulling a 3791. Just driving around town I get about 22.

Right around 11. Individual trip’s vary depending on wind, terrain, and local roads vs interstates. Our last trip in June was a 152 mile run that was retraced back home on the exact same roads, only difference was the trip out was in calm weather and a little over 100 miles of the trip back was into a 25 mph head wind. Truck and trailer info in my signature.

I am trying to stay away from dual rear wheels, just for convenience as the truck is used for other than towing, and there is a driveway size issue. However, as I am sure you know, bed weight is always an issue.
