Winegard router

Thinking of getting the winegard router. My unit is already prewired for it. Question I have is can I remove the SIM card from my phone and use it when I want the router to work? I have att for phone service was going to get a plan through them for it; however, they want over 50.00 a month for a plan. We only use it when at the camper and with att you can’t turn it on n off. It is per month.

I’m not familiar with swapping a SIM. What I did was go on ATT website and order an IPad SIM for my existing data plan for $20 per month. Satisfied with performance using it to stream with Fire and Apple TV.

It will work if the sim card in your phone is the same size as the router takes.
However, if you do this, AT&T can tell what device the sim card is in and shut you down if you are not on an unlimited plan that allows it.
The same has happened to several people who have Netgear routers like mine. I'm lucky to have been on a grandfathered unlimited plan for the past 25 years, so I have the router with unlimited and no problems.

I have a winegard router. I purchased a hot spot data plan which comes with a sim card. It can be inserted in any hot spot device. I ditched AT&T and went with T-Mobile. Cost is $50 per month for 50 GB. The winegard is limited to 4g so a 5g plan won't work. Also installed a Dish sat system. $5 a month for Service. Obviously it's only as good as cell coverage.
