Air Conditioner Ceiling Return Grill

Well, I managed to break a small part of the Dometic 15,000 btu rear unit's ceiling return air grill. When changing the filter, one of the two finger releases snapped off. It was a nice clean break. I have been thinking of a glue that would work, but as you know, glues you want to stick don't and the ones you don't want to stick will glue everything in the area but what you wanted it to do in the first place.

A replacement grill is $99 plus shipping. What a rip for a cheaply made plastic part. I wondered if ABS plumbing glue would work to reattach it and would it hold through filter changes. Any ideas short of duct tape, bailing wire, etc.

I assume you are referring to the return air grill. The Dometic Site shows that part (p/n 3104928.001) as ~$14. I have found them at RV dealers for around that price also. I carry a spare just in case it breaks. I have not found a glue that works well on that item.

I was gonna say $99 HOLY CR$# Batman!!!!! I saw them too at PP&L for I thought was $15 too. I think at $99 bucks you were looking at the inside mount for an AC, usually that is around a hundred bucks or so. But that's the whole kit and kaboodle you see inside.

Here's one https://www.americanrvcompany.com/Do...-RV_p_904.html

Or this one for 5.99 http://www.statetrailer.com/products...s-14/31102600/
