Find someone with a camera on the end of a grabbing device (plumber maybe?)and try to get it via the toilet or the black drain. It might be easier this way than dropping the tank and cutting a hole in it. Good luck with this. Please keep us posted as to how you resolved this issue.

Try removing the toilet and the coupler to the sewer pipe going through the basement into the black tank. What you are trying to retrieve should be right at the bottom of the pipe.

I have seen Service Center personnel do this so that they could flush the black tank out with a hose, in preparation of replacing the tank.

Following snfexpress logic on where it might be lying a strong magnet on a string could be dropped down the stool if the metal spray end is ferrous. Just a thought and cheap to try. Jim

Thanks for all the suggestions! We tried the magnet and it was a teaser and you could almost get it. I suggested an old fashioned coat hanger and it worked! Hubby was very happy!!

Glad it worked out for you! Usually things like that don’t always have a happy ending.

Very happy you were able to retrieve what you "lost". I'm betting that you are relieved in more ways than one! Happy trails!
