I- 69 North of Indy Camping

Looking for an open Campground just off I69 north of Indianapolis,IN. None listed on any sites or woodalls that are open prior to April 15.I found one years ago on our trip back to MI. from Texas but lost the name and forgot the location. I know it was on the west side of I-69 before Gas City . The park had an old two story home as you pulled onto the property and it had some overnite sites and some year round trailers.

Try Timberline Family Campground in Anderson. It is closed according to the campground guides, but if you call them you will likely find that it is open.

Try

Fireside Resort at Kruse Park

5612 County Road 11 A

Auburn Indiana

290-925-6747

They were open late fall 2010, planned on staying open all winter, per what they told us. Call ahead to verify.

Mounds State Park is in Anderson In. about 3-4 miles off I-69. Shouldn't have any problem getting a site this early in the season. Their website shows they are fully open starting today. They do have limited facilities (ie: no water/bath houses open). Sites are electric only so make sureyou have some water in the tank of you plan on staying here.
