Going to Branson
Wanting to go to Branson this year. Is it better to go in summer or fall? Been 20 years since I have been and don't really know about crowds in fall or heat in summer.

Only time I have been there was the last week of September of 2009. No crowds at all. Strip was easily drivable. And you could get very good seats to shows, even on the day of the show.
We bought tickets to one show from one of the brokers 2 days in advance. Thought we got a good deal on the 3rd row. As we were picking up out tickets at the counter just before show time, I heard the lady next to me at the counter asking if tickets were available. Ticket lady said she could get seats on the 2nd row!
Keep hearing it is pretty hectic during summer vacation season.
Check one or more of the Branson show web sites and see who you may want to see. Some of the name entertainers are only there at certain times or limited engagements. That may help you decide on the timing.
All shows we went to were only about 50%-60% full.

Summer has lots of families and lots of summer vacationers. Fall has lots of bus tours because of leaf peepers. Summer in Branson can be very hot and humid. Spring and fall are my favorites. After oct some of the shows start shutting down to get ready for xmas shows, now those are good shows too. I would say fall has fewer people than summer. The only show you may have a little trouble getting in is Shoji Tobucci (sp). Make sure you see SIX, a famiy of six guys that sing and use no instruments but it soounds like they have a full band

Check out the Hard Luck Cafe. Good food, reasonable prices and the waiters/waitress' sing for you. FUN!

Being a nearby Branson resident (I live on Table Rock Lake), the Fall is the best. Anytime after Labor Day when the kids are back to school. If you are a Vet, then come Vet Week in early November around Veterans' Day. Please feel free to contact me for more info.
