Splendide 2100 vs. 2000S washer/dryer?

We're considering getting a washer/dryer combo and are focusing on the Splendide 2000S and 2100, the two vented combo models sold by Camping World. Looking at the specs, they seem identical for these two models except that the 2100 has a capacity of 1.92 cu. ft. and the 2000S only has 1.6 cu. ft. capacity. The 2100 is only $20 more than the 2000S. Is there any reason to go with the 2000S?

As for accessories, is there any reason to get the drain pan (we will be installing the washer/dryer in the washer/dryer closet right next to the entry door)? As for the vent kit, any advice regarding the different options--standard kit vs. deluxe white kit vs. deluxe chrome kit?

I was just going to buy an older 2000s, but after measuring the vent, I would have to leave about 4" behind the unit so that the 4" vent hose would have room. According to the instructions the hose must go down then out. In my opinion there is not enough room in the closet for this unit. Or am I mis-understanding how to install this unit? Also the vent kit offered only has a 2' hose this is not enough to get to the outside wall.

Also if I attempt to go straight through the back wall which would solve the 4" space issue, which goes into our bathroom. I would have to run the vent hose behind the stool, then out the side needing about 4.5' of hose.

I'm looking for suggestions as well how to properly install this unit.

For 20 bucks take the extra capacity. They are not all that big anyhow. Our vent (3400) lays along the top of the 2100.it is almost a straight shot out. We installed the smaller outside vent same color at the camper. We do not have the drain pan and see no need for it. These are both personal choices.

There is an adapter that you can buy that is only like 2" at the most. It has the 4" connector at both ends and is adjustable. This lets you move the machine back another 2". I ordered ours on line but I have since seen them at Ace Hardware. We do not have the pan.
Happy trails.....................

Get the larger and do what we did. Have Camping World install it when the have the 1/2 price installation. They did an excellent job on ours and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We do not have a pan and have been using this for two years. They put the white vent on ours and it looks just fine.

I agree, get the bigger model. I have the smaller 2000S but got a good deal on it because it had a small dent on the side that you do not see when installed in the cabinet. They are great, quiet little units and we just get in the habit of doing a wash load every day and never have dirty laundry to worry about.

Well I'm learning as I go. The 2007 3400 drain for the washer does not go into a holding tank, it is connected right th the main drin out pipe. So, no can use the washer at the campground we stay as they only have honey wagon service. And I'm not a plumber, so not attempt will be made for this type connection. Just a FYI for those who may not know.

We have the smaller 2000S and got a good deal when they had the grand opening of CW here, I installed it and got the vent they had and when trying to install it was very short, off the Lowes and got a long one, the book said the vent needed to be lower than where it came out the washer due to no lint filter it shoots it out the vent. The vent ended up out the side just above where the lever is to hold the door open, it says it is 4" but is 4 1/8 had to sand it out some to get the end to fit in the side of the RV. Works great now, little shaking but have my JT's strong arms now install as soon as the rain stops.

David -

Go for the capacity. We debated the drain pan, but decided if we put one under the washer we should also put one under the shower, the sinks, etc.. . Figured what's the point. The washer hoses are better than the plumbing in the RV.

Thanks for the feedback. We've decided to go with the Splendide 2100 without the drip pan--with the bonus that Camping World appears to have put it on sale starting yesterday. Now just need to decide between the white or the chrome vent. LOL!!!

Thanks again for your help on this.

David, we used the white vent as it matched the rest of the Monty and is kind of non-descript. The chrome looks great on those motorhomes, but there ain't a lot of chrome on the Montana.

We chose the white for the same reason that Brad did and it looks fine. We also have and really like the 2100 without the pan.
