Outside compartment drawer

We decided to get a small generator for on the road and emergencies. Not ready to buy an Onan yet so we purchased a Coleman at Home Depot for $399. Being a portable unit, the front compartment isn’t very practical or accessible when the truck is hooked-up. I decided to stow in the side compartment on a gliding shelf. The shelves at CW are over a hundred dollars for the glides without the shelf, so I decided to make my own. I bought a handle and a 24” 100 lb rated drawer glides from Home Depot for $26. The rest of the stuff, scrap aluminum angles, floor tiles plywood and screws, I rummaged from my garage.

I still need to install hold down straps this week. We leave for Florida in 9 days.

Sure looks great, nothing better than being able to make something work and saving money at the same time. Enjoy your upcoming trip to Florida

Bighorn, I see a compressor setup in there also. Is that for roadside emergencies or for some type of leveling system?

Very nice. I'll be calling you for a quote when we buy our RV. No way I could do it that nicely.

You are right $100 for a small sliding tray is steep. We have been looking for a large sliding try. Full width of the compartment and rig. CW has the best prices we have found for that size. Some of them areover $1000. Still looking but it looks like about $500. Your set up looks great.

Well done. You just might have yourself a business! Our unit came with a sliding tray but it is an extra. We love it and are very happy the dealer ordered the unit that way.
Happy trails...................
