Lug Nut Torque Question
I forgot to bring my note book with us and I can't remember the proper Torgue for the Lug Nuts on the Montana. Can any of you remind me on this?
Thanks ahead of time, Scott

I have a 2006 with 6,000 lbs axles, size ST235/80 tires, 8-lug aluminum wheels... and this is what my book says and others are using:
If using G614s and if these are different I hope someone posts the differences.

I use the Torq-'n-Go lug nuts which Dexter made about four years ago. Because they exert more foot-pounds of pressure than the normal lug nut, I have to set mine at 110 ft-lbs. Otherwise steel wheels can/may be dimpled by the pressure of the lug nut. Great not to have to worry about continuing to check the torque but unfortunately Dexter quit making them.

I torque mine to 110. Just checked them in anticipation of the new season. Only 3 turned any at all and then less than a 1/4 turn.

Not trying to start anything, but aren't there two torque values, one if you have 1/2" studs (like 90 - 100) and another if you have 9/16" studs (120 - 140)???? I know our 2010 2955RL had the 6K axles with 1/2" studs, while units with 7K axles have 9/16" studs.

Michelle you are exactly right both kinds are out there and the manual we were given shows the difference in torque.

And don't forget to re-check them after driving 50 or 75 miles!
