VAN HORN, OZONA, AND KERRVILLE, TEXAS
We left Deming, NM, after visiting family for a few weeks, and headed toward Kerrville, TX. We stopped at an old RV park off I-10, exit 140, in Van Horn: Mountain View RV Park. While the park is old and is for sale, it was fine for overnight. And at the Passport America rate of $12.50, it worked for us.
The next day we drove on to Ozona, TX, and found the Circle Bar RV Park at exit 372. They offered just about every kind of discount, so we took the 10% military (retired) discount and paid $18 cash. The sites were level with full hookups, cable TV, and a pool. We walked across the street to the hotel/truck stop restaurant and got 10% off our dinner check. The food was pretty good, inexpensive, and lots of it.
We're currently at the Guadalupe River RV Resort in Kerrville, TX, and really like our site. We back up to the river and see the deer, ducks, egrets, and squirrels playing in the "backyard." They have a pool and spa for adults only, as well as the River Rock Saloon, which is a full bar. They have open mike on Saturday nights - good fun! Only about 25 miles from Fredericksburg, TX, too. Lots to do there.
