How do you post a picture?
Ok, I put the pictures on Photobucket and then pasted the address in the space that ask for it and all I got was the writing and no picture, so what did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

I open a picture in photobucket and then click on the icon on the right labeled "Direct" and it will say "copied" when I do meaning it copied the url or link for that pic. Then I click on the insert image icon here and paste the url I just copied. The dialog box will come up with http:// already in it. You have to delete that, or paste over it.

If you quote my post you will see that it puts after the link. You might try manually entering those before and after your link and see if that works.

Next use notebook not a word processor to build your code some of the word processors include hidden formatting that interferes with the coding.
This picture is larger than what you should be posting this way because the users of note book computers have problems viewing them but here is my back yard.

You can load images directly to posts here. Click on 'go advanced' to see the paper clip icon for adding attachments.

People use many different photo hosting sites. All you need is to be able to copy the URL link to that picture and paste it into the dialog box you get when you click on the insert image icon (the little yellow box with the mountains in it) at the top of the reply (message) box. The dialog box will open with http:// already in it. You need to delete that or paste over it. You do not want http in there twice.

Hi
I just tried to use the code that will display Photo Bucket picture from Google Photos and I believe because Google requires you to use the HTTPS (a secure address) address this forum software will not allow pictures to be displayed embedded in your post from Google Photos.
This code would imbed the picture from my personal server if it were online.

The Google Photos requires the HTTPS addressing instead of the HTTP addressing
I have tried the Google Photos address from all of my browsers and it does work.
This link will work because it uses your browser instead of imbedding the picture in your post.

In order to get this coding you need to go to Google Photos and put your picture in a “shared folder” then from the shared folder in the upper right hand corner is” three dots” place you curser on the dots and left click in the drop down window select “sharing options” in the shared options box will be the code Like I used in this message.

You can upload attachments now directly into posts here. There is no need to use a hosting service.
If you are posting from a computer, just click "go advanced" iat the bottom of thereply box and on the next screen you will see two options to add images.
1. Click on the paperclip icon and follow the prompts or
2. scroll down a bit and click on manage attachments.
In either case you will be prompted to select images that are store on your computer and they should load with your post.

That's great. Photobucket has become very annoying and slow to use with all the pop up ads now.

Janet H: I tried this and it works great! Thanks for adding this feature to the forum, really helps simplify things a lot!
