We installed this valve on our shower.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Since we boondock a lot, we always do navy showers - wet down, water off, soap up, water on, water off. This valve does two things. First, it virtually eliminates the cold shock after turning water back on. Second, it’s easy to find with soap in your eyes.
As for the shades, we had a number of them fall off and learned the easy way to fix them. A long (6”) square drive bit with a cordless drill makes it a quick job. On ours, the screw that holds the bracket in the end comes out, then the whole unit drops. There are two or three screws between the shades and the valance and a screw on the bottom of each vertical valance and the whole unit comes off. Then it makes it easy to snap them in the brackets. A larger screw aids in holding the bracket in the aluminum extrusion.
