Big Sky tail lights

One of the things I like about the Big Sky is the tail lights and backup lights. They are round and inset to look nice (my opinion). However, be prepared for a surprise when a bulb burns out. Your old tail light bulbs or backup bulbs could be replaced by removing the lense and replacing the bulb very cheaply.

Not so with the 2008 Big Sky. The tail light lense and bulb are a sealed module and the replacement cost is about $7.00. Another gotcha. It is not hard to do--plug and play with three Robinson screws, but more costly than older models.

Oh yeah, Holiday World, a Montana dealer in Houston, the parts manager had never seen one and had to order me one. It will get here from Indiana in about 5 days.

Did you look into the LED option? Now that they are round, there are tons of DOT approved tailights out there. The competitors are already using them.

I would gladly pay $7 to get rid of these old Chev tailights on mine

Believe me - they are General Motors tail lights from the 1972 - 1988 era Chev/GMC 1500/2500 pickups and 1972-1991 Chev/GMC Blazer/Tahoe and Suburban.

I don't remember the name of the RV, but in the 90s there was one manufacturer that used huge Pontiac tailights mounted vertically. They looked like the back of Chevy Chases Family Truckster
