Greetings from South Central Texas

Greetings fellow Montana Owners,

We are Jim and Judee and are new to the RV life. We purchased a 2022, Montana 3231 CK Legacy, and looking forward to enjoy getting out and meet new friends! We are not full time however, we need to crawl before we run.

We are retired military after 4 decades with Navy and Marine Corps, numerous deployments, countless moves, and now rooted here in TX. With that said, we want to see as much of the US as possible, meet fellow veterans, meet those who supported our military and families, and ultimately have a great time.

I have the military travel problem of "get-there-itus" - travel as fast as possible between duty stations. This is difficult when my wife says we cannot do 10-12 hour days with minimal potty stops. Heavy sigh! Well I guess we need to stop and take our fur-kid out to potty.

Look forward to tips, tricks, and recommendations!

Jim
P.S. don't tell Judee I posted this intro.

James,

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for your service. I am also a retired sailor.

It will not take you long to appreciate shorter travel days. We drive a long day when there is a good reason but 5-6 hours is now the norm.

Jim and Judee - thank you for your service! Definitely time to slow down now and smell the roses so to speak. I still have to keep tabs on my hurry-up-itus as well even after having been out for nearly 25 years. Enjoy your new rig and the opportunities ahead. The destination is merely that - the destination. The rest of the trip is the adventure. Safe travels and happy camping to you both.
