Shower dome

I need to replace the shower dome on the roof of my 5th wheel. After 15 years it developed a crack. I've purchased both new domes. Clear Outer Dome 14" x 22", Flange 17" x 25" and Inner Dome with Window 14" x 22" I would like to find out if I need to put (more tight ?) "rope cord" under the frame prior to screwing down the dome. Otherwise I will fasten direct to roof and caulk.

Butyl tape under the exterior dome flange to the roof membrane. Then screw it down and self leveling sealant it till the screws and edge are fully covered.
