2018 Fall Rally - Volunteers needed for parking rigs Sept. 19
Woody will be in charge of getting people to their assigned sites on arrival to the 2018 Rally on Sept. 19. I guess he's good at telling people where to go! Volunteers are needed to help with this daunting task. BYOB - Bring Your Own Bike (or other transportation). No worries if you don't have a bike though. We can still use you! Time to be at the entrance gate will be announced later.

Is September 19th the earliest you can move onto a site, or is early arrival allowed?

Parking
Linda and I should be getting there about the 17th. We will start our duties then. Anyone arriving earlier that could help park would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure of the specifics yet but will post when I find them out. If we get enough volunteers we will be able to take breaks to get our own things done. That's a hint. I'm not sure who has or when they will have the master list. I do remember from last year that it helped to have someone by the road to get people turned into the right entrance. All in all it was a truly moving experience.

We're planning to arrive on the 18th and I would be available to help. I will not have a bike, however.

Parking
As I was mowing the lawn I was pondering the best way to utilize the parking volunteers. Until a better plan is hatched, I think it would be best if the volunteers just came to the main gate by the office when they are available We can work out a schedule as we go. I also thought it would be a good idea to have a Director of Quality Control (DQC). This would help maintain consistency with General Practices. I designate Larry Moore to this prestigious title. I also thought to reduce pesky fines, penalties, and time consuming boards of inquiry, the DQC could park all the rigs. I know, you're saying this might take more time. It may, but with enough volunteers to chit chat with those in the queue, I doubt if many will notice the lengthy but professional way the DQC is doing his job. For those who don't know me, I'll be the one with the official looking umbrella in his drink. And Larry, i'd like to pass on some words of wisdom George gave me last year when he took me under his wing. He took me aside and said, " Woody, what the hell are you doing? Why can't you be more flexible like Larry Moore". Now if I could only find a good copilot to keep me out of trouble and do any work that might pop up. Okay volunteers, lets make this the best parking ever.

You can arrive earlier. You just have to call the Elkhart fairgrounds and arrange the time. You might have a different site if someone is in your rally site and then have to move to the rally area later. We've been lucky and have gotten our rally site each time though.

Woody is correct on early arrival. We hope to be able to get folks on their site starting 17 Sep. The campground will try to get the rally ahead of us gone by that time.

I don't think Woody ever parked a plane without direction from the GCA (ground control authority). Now he is the GCA. If not for Larry, I think we'd all be in trouble. BTW, we are arriving on the 15th (really because we can't wait to see all our friends again) to avoid Woody learning how to be the GCA.
