Exclamation Repair scrape on side wall

I had a little, ahem, boo boo on the sidewall. I think I have gel coat as the brochure says hi-gloss. I don't think there is a deep scratch into the wall, but some paint rubbed onto it in a small area. So can I somehow polish this out or buff it out and repaint it?
Thanks.

Small blemish can mean many different things to various people, having said that if it is a surface scratch and some transferred paint then yes you should easily be able to buff it out. Buy a Car Polish and use a power buffer if available and it should buff right out. Then ensure you wax the area after using the polish to reseal. For deeper scratch's you may have to use a rubbing compound in order to bring it back. If so you will want to follow up with a polish then a wax to reseal. If it is a really small area you can sometimes just use a traditional tooth paste (not gel) to remove the transferred paint/remove scratch.... Good luck shouldn't be a big job....

Very shortly after we purchased our new Montana, I scratched the drivers side rear. It was long and it was pretty deep, but it didn't destroy anything. I was having some custom work done on it from my dealer (awing install on the opposite side), and talked to them about the scratch. To fix properly would have been a very expensive endeavor. I made the suggestion to them, and this is exactly what they did:

Remove the rear section graphics, fiberglass Bondo the scratch. Sand it smooth and place a new graphic directly over the affected area. No repaint, just sand it smooth and stick the graphic right on top. And it worked.

Granted, the graphic is not in the original position, but if you didn't know, you'd NEVER know. Scratch and the repair will never be seen. "They" did a great job!

Notice the double stripe under the far back window. This was the graphic in it's original position:

Here's what the graphic looked like after the repair:

I would buff it out and travel on down the road.

For deeper boo boo's you can purchase gel coat repair kits. I had to do a repair using the kit easy peasy.
