Front Cap Personalization

When we got our trailer, the front cap mirror was completely degraded and the only thing left was the black plastic piece. I removed the plastic piece and cleaned the area really well. The adhesive used when building these things took almost 2 hours to remove. if I had to do it again, I would have left it in place and used that for a mounting platform. My wife, who is a school teacher, used her "Cricut" device and printed out the vinyl stickers. It came out really nice and was super cheap. Another great idea from this forum community,

That is way better than the mirror and more useful.

Yep, pulled our mirror off as well and still haven't gotten all the sticky stuff off. So what did you use in conjunction with the elbow grease?

Wife has the Cricut machine as well so she will be doing something just like yall did. Already have something on door glass and the rear of our 381TH.

My wife has a Circuit also but I have a hard time getting her to put what I want on a shirt. I am so not politically correct LOL I have so much to say ROFL

That does look nice on your RV. Great idea

I used a little bit of everything. That was a royal pain. I used gas, paint thinner, goof off, rubbing alcohol. I think the gas and paint thinner worked the best. I just worked a section at a time until it was all gone. i feel your pain and frustration.

That's funny, Bartman. I just bought my wife the new Cricut Maker machine. She wanted to do the same thing. The "mirror" is useless to me when hitching up anyway.

I suppose, if you don't use the mirror, or it's faded and not replaced, and it's wasted space for nothing, finding an alternative use for that space is great.

You did a really nice job with the print and style. It looks very attractive, and more important, it looks like it belong there. Nice job!

We did the same thing after having the silly mirror replaced twice.

This works great for removing adhesive. I used it to remove the wallpaper border in our Montana.

Well ok then. I would have never thought to use odor eliminator for the application but glad to hear SOMETHING works on that glue!! Thanks for the heads up!

I wonder if it is the citrus (IE: Citric Acid) doing the actual work or maybe the propellant?

Adhesive remover

I'm not sure what ingredients work to remove adhesive, but it really works well. I got the idea from another RVer who remodeled her camper. I had already tried a heat gun as well as Goo Gone with a putty knife and was having no luck. I did some online searches and found the suggestion. I really wish I could remember her name because she has lots of great remodeling ideas.
