New truck, next a brake controller

I think the next item I need to get is a break controller for the new truck. I have heard good things about the Prodigy controllers but, I am open to other suggestions.

You wouldn't get any other suggestions from me. After having a few different controllers, the Prodigy is so far ahead of the others I've tried I wouldn't consider anything else. They really are nice and allow YOU to have control.

I will just agree with the others and add that I installed the Prodigy myself on my Duramax by ordering the appropriate harness. No problem whatsoever, and it is working great even after my rewiring (see my "True Confession" thread.)

We've had other brands - Prodigy is the best and easiest to use in our opinion.

Prodigy here too. It will come with a harness that will mate to the harness that came from GM. Cheapest I've found ($100 + shipping): http://rvwholesalers.com/

Well, in my opinion, the best brake controller available is the Ford builtin controller. But since that's not an option for you I'd highly recommend the Prodigy. It's the best of several aftermarket controllers I've used. It's pretty much plug and play. Easy to connect. Once you have the settings right, forget it and just go. No changing the settings when the brakes get warmer, etc. Set it and forget it. And it is relatively smooth and works in reverse, too.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

I have been very happy with my Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. I suggest you take a look at them and see what you think.

I went with Jordan because it is mechanically connected to your brake peddle instead of a velocity sensing device. I know Prodigy is great so you should not go bad with that one.
If I did it again I would look at Brake-smart or Jordan.
Good luck and tow safe.

After my study went with Jordan - Check them out. Very satisfied with the Jordan 2020.
