Coming and Going!

Hello MOC family,
We're are truly "coming and going" and enjoying every moment. We are not truly fulltiming but I think we're just short a few days here and there! We just returned from a great trip to the Palm Springs area, Lake Elsinore, and back to Ramona in southern California. We are headed out to Desert Hot Springs 10/24 and then on to Colorado River. From there it will be to Phoenix for these 2 NASCAR nuts. We will be able to camp at the Phoenix Raceway and be there for EVERYTHING. Now we know that doesn't sound very exciting to most of you but to us it is what it is all about. After a week at the races we're off to Camp Verde, AZ and many other Arizona sites. We want to enjoy the Arizona sunshine until Thanksgiving. Then we'll drag ourselves back to the snow and cold in the Sierras for a short stay. Got to organize Christmas with the family, check our winter habitat and then we're off again. Golly, it's fun to be retired and have no responsibilities!!!

Congratulations, Chuck and Linda. Sounds like you are having a great time. Your plans sound super. Was the Ramona area recovering from last year's fire? We were there in March and were sick to see the fire damage. We also were there a year prior. And we used to live in the San Diego area. Hope your retirement continues to be fantastic. We sure enjoy ours, too.

Hi Steve and Vicki,
Don't know what I'm doing sitting up until the wee hours when we leave tomorrow on the trip that was noted earlier. The male fan sleeps soundly and the female fan is just like an excited kid...can't sleep. So here is the MOC to help me pass the time. The Ramona area
is still scarred by the fire. We were there in April/May and then again 2 weeks ago. There had been a little rain during the last few weeks and things are beginning to "green" up slightly. But most of the burn area still looks like a war zone...very sad to see.

I'm sorry to hear that. We were in San Diego a couple of weeks ago but it was not a pleasure trip and we didn't do any sightseeing at all. Vicki grew up in Chula Vista. All our kids were born there. We also lived in San Diego, Spring Valley, and Poway, all in that area. When we were out there last April we drove up to Ramona and Julian and it was pretty bad then but some green was coming through. I suppose it will take years to erase the damage. Thanks and hope you're having a great trip!
