"New" Mountaineer 298RLS

We got our "new" Mountaineer home Saturday. Well, at least new to us. It pulled like a dream behind the Duramax. It didn't take long to discover the converter isn't working. Something the previous owners neglected to tell us. Other than that it seems in perfect condition. We're happy!

Great!! Hope you squeeze all the enjoyment out of it. Welcome to the ranks of second owners who laugh or cry all the way to the bank. Happy RVing....

I'm sure you're going to enjoy the Mountaineer as we enjoy ours. We have the 329 RLT and are totally happy with it. I think the floor plan is the same as yours, difference being ours was built in later in the year. The only problem we've ever encountered with ours is the plug on that huge cord was not wired tight and we kept loosing electric power until we took the plug apart and tightened all the wires and screws. Nothing since, tho. We love our private bath! Happy camping.

Getting a new rig is always a joy. I hope your problems are little ones and easy to solve. Enjoy.
Cheers,

Steve,

Congratulations on your "new" home away from home. I believe in 2005 there were some converter problems with the mountaineers. I had mine home for a whole 2 hours before we discovered the converter was out. We called the dealer and he made it right and in just a couple of hours had it fixed. I have not had one problem since. I have only used mine a couple of times but still think of it as new. I hope you have many great travels in your new unit.
Phil

Thanks everybody! We're really looking forward to our first outing in the spring.
Phil - that makes sense because when I bought the replacement it was a new, revised circuit board to replace mine that was "obsolete". Hopefully the new one will last longer than a couple of years. At any rate, all is well and we're happy!!

stevemc,
What part of MO is home? I was raised in Rolla, lived near Jefferson City, Chesterfield, Springfield, Joplin and now call Marshfield home (at least for mail purposes).

We have been full timing in ours for the last 16 months and it seems to be holding up ok. We like the rig and have made several minor changes to make it ours. We have had a few problems, some minor, some not and have found Keystone to be very non-responsive, but that does not seem to be the norm based on this forum.

Wish you good luck with yours and hope you enjoy many safe trips. Its all about the journey.

Congratulations and hope you have many happy times in it. We had a 05 329RLS and never had any problems with it.

We're in the northeast part of the state, north of KC. We're both still working so just planning some vacations in it for the time being.

We own a '03 298RLS and have been loving it ever since. We ordered it and really haven't had a problem. We use it quite often;2-3 weekends out of a month from April til usually Thanksgiving weekend. Best of luck with yours and hope you enjoy it half as much as we do. Take care.
