Charging Batteries Boondocking

I read in a thread that charging the RV's batteries using the converter run off a generator will take a long time. The suggestion was to plug in a battery charger while running the generator would top off the batteries much quicker.
Is there any problem or concerns running a battery charger while the converter is also attached and charging the batteries? Any issues running a battery charger and converter in parallel on the batteries?
Thanks.

When we dry camp, which isn’t often, we use our Honda 2000, and it works fine with our converter. Of course, we have a 90 amp converter in our rig, so a smaller converter will take a bit longer. Even if it did take a while to charge, I can’t see having to deal with a separate charger and worrying about damaging the converter or batteries.

Your converter (whether charged from your generator or 110 outlet), is designed to maximize the life of your batteries. The charger will be a straight charge. Here is a website that will explain it. https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/...d_acid_battery
One of the advantages of lithium batteries is they charge much faster.
