Door Knob failure - locked out of bedroom!
So on our way back from a long weekend outing the door knob to the bedroom decided to fail. It will not turn at all. I've swapped out door knobs before but this has me stumped. The knob is installed from the bedroom side so I cannot access the side that has the screws on it. These also do not have a release slot on the opposite side. So now the knob is frozen, with the door closed. I tried to wiggle a pick into the door jam but the bolt is locked up and will not actuate at all.
Any advice from the MOC before I destroy the door knob to gain access?

Destroy it. There just isn't any magic out there that will fix one of these cheap door knobs. I've already replaced the knob on the bathroom door, but ordered two from my dealer, and put one in my parts box. It will fail again.

So far I'm off to a good start destroying it lol. Broken off this know on the hall side and removed the faceplate. Punched the other parts through to the bedroom but whatever failed is some weird piece controlling the bolt which is lodged in the faceplate. Talk about a PITA. There's not much left to punch out and she's still holding strong.

Is the unit leveled up or at least sitting level?
These long ol trailers will bind the doorknobs if it is twisted out of level

And it finally let go. What a pile of junk. I'll be replacing the bathrooom one ASAP also to avoid a repeat of this mess.
ETA: Some piece that rides behind the "bolt" bound with the chinese metal casing that sits between the door faceplate and knob hole. I had the hole almost completely devoid of parts and that little sucker was still wedged in there. Must've bound on the way home and wedged itself super good.

Can these door knobs be replaced with regular interior door knobs you can get any hardware store or do you have to get them from an RV dealer ?

Lowes, HD, or any other good hardware store will have one. Got mine for the bathroom door at Lowes. Perfect match but much better quality and I'm sure it was cheaper than an RV dealer.

Reminds me of an adventure we had. Got back to Monty from site seeing, and couldn't get in the door!! In the past, a screw inside had come loose causing the latch to not work. This time we were outside and the screws to remove the lock are on the inside.
By some miracle, we had not locked the emergency window on the back wall and I was able to remove the screen and slide the windows over. Climbed in there and then had to tell wife where to get the screwdriver, etc to remove the lock.
Now we don't ever lock the deadbolt part of the door lock.

That's my plan. Swap both doors out for a Schlegel or Kwikset.
