If you watch the cracked area while the slide opens and closes, does the wall move? Looks to me like a framing stud is broken or broken weld of stud.

I have also noticed that my kitchen roadside slide bumps and bucks as I extend and retract, and that never occured before. I fully lubed the slide and inspected it. I hope that does not indicate something else majorly out of alignment with the trailer since the cracks started.

Keystone did state they had not seen the crack in my more central location, and its usually upfront by the overhang. It looks like myself and the originator of the post WALLY DAD may be the first.

I will update this thread when I find out more. Safe travels and Pandemic to all!

I had an issue while on a two month trip last year - Keystone Customer Service sent me four phone numbers to call for inspection. Fortunately one of the locations ONLY did repair work. Had highly qualified repair folks. Not sure ANY dealer has that typically - IMHO

I have noticed that mid year 2020, Keystone changed their slideroom height in the goose neck area to accommodate additional laminated wall area/structure under the off door slide. Here are two photos:
This is the old wall:

This is the new wall:

I'm thinking that they are fixing the problem by beefing up the front structure although I have no idea if this extends to the frame.

Looking at the pictures, I think they might be moving the problem to the top of the rig vice the bottom.
I would wonder how the wall/roof joint above the bedroom will perform over time.

No, I haven’t seen the wall move when retracting or extending the slide. The slide does drop a bit when extending, but that’s about it. There is some evidence that the slide is moving when we travel. Not out, but downward an inward. I’m guessing this happens because a cabinet pull that sits a couple of inches from the slide when retracted has been bent and there is a corresponding mark on the wood trim of the slide.

Keystone has been very responsive, but the Covid-19 emergency has shut them down for now. Hopefully this will end in a month or so and everyone can back on track.

We were working with Keystone and set an appointment for them to look at it as we are still under the factory structural warranty. However, with the stay at home order in Indiana and elsewhere everything is on hold for now.

Sir,

I had an issue like this on my Eagle Cap truck camper on the slide out side, while in Alaska. It was caused by a frost heave on the road which caused structural damage to my camper. If you have full coverage on your camper this will be covered, if it occurred while you were towing the unit.

We are in the process of getting ours repaired. We are currently setting up an appointment with a dealer Keystone told us this will be covered. We only put 700 miles on our brand new 3780 RL ! We hope it works out........

Does CW really have the capability to do this kind of inspection? I’d feel most dealers are not qualified.
