As of yesterday 10-16, we reached the limit of 15 rigs that can stay past the rally end date of 7-1 (two early arrival slots still open). You may still send in your requests for early arrival/late departure but you will be put on a wait list with the resort (indicated by "W" on the registration status spread sheet).

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up; the resort has told me several times that they will not have more that 15 slots available for extended stay.

In any case, it will be a great rally.

Are there any openings left for the rally? Will you start a list of attendees?
Thanks,

Post #1 above has a link to the list of registered members. And yes, there is still space available.

Registration update

As of today, 51 of the 60 slots have been filled.

Remember, the resort only allowed us 15 early arrival or late departure slots so those requesting such after mid October will probably not be accommodated and have been registered for 06/24/20 to 07/01/20 (7 nights). Requested dates have been added to the list we will be providing the resort, but we do not expect anything to open up.

The registration list with dates registered can be seen at the link in post 1.

We will probably not receive final pricing from the resort for another couple months; when we do, invoices will be sent out for the 7 days of the rally. Those that are in early or staying late will be contacted by the resort for payment for the extra days.

As we get closer, we will start the planning process and asking for volunteers.

We may be in the area Newport TT, at the time of the Rally do we need to sign up or anything to come over and participate in some of the activities?

No, be glad to have you. There will be some activities that require a sign up; keep an eye on this forum for the announcements.

Register if you want to stay at the resort with us. Regional rallies are not restricted to Montana 5th wheels.

OK, we are slow to commit to plans, but decided we really want to join the group again this year (last year was our first rally!). We have downloaded the PDF and are sending it to the e-mail address. Thanks for helping the procrastinators!!

I have received several questions concerning the western region rally and the virus. At this point, we will continue with our plans. If circumstances change or do not improve, we will re-evaluate at that time.

Soon; I have been talking with them the last week or so.

I have been working with the resort. They will be opening tomorrow, so are very busy. Almost everyone who requested early arrival/late departure has been accommodated. I updated the registration status link; the dates for those that have been moved off the wait list are in green text. I hope I have this right, things are changing rapidly. When sites open up, we are assigning them in order of the date you registered. If anyone sees an error, let me know.

We are still discussing payment options, so don't worry about it yet.

And, of course, this virus thing has all plans in question; but, at this time, we are continuing.

Coeur d’Alene Rally Update

At this time, plans for the Western Region rally at Coeur d’Alene Idaho are continuing. If conditions, such as government mandates, change, we will re-consider. I’m sure there will be some that do not feel safe traveling. Everyone needs to make that decision for themselves; we understand and support those that decide not to come; there will be other rallies.

For now, the rally is on. However, there will be some changes.

First of all, the payment procedure. You will be contacted by the resort staff to confirm your reservation dates and arrange for payment (about $65/night). As a club, we will only be collecting the rally fee (anticipating $15 this year) and will do so when you check in. You will provide the resort staff with a credit card but they will not charge your card until you check in. The cancellation policy is very reasonable at 48 hours in advance of arrival, but, if you must cancel, please do so as soon as you know. In addition to cancelling with the resort staff, let us know via email at 2020mocspringrally@gmail.com

Most of those requesting days before or after the rally have been approved; a few are still on the wait list and the resort is not expecting sites to open up. You can discuss this when they call you. Check the registration status document at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=905497023

Blackwell Island is probably not going to be making calls for another few weeks, so be patient. If you don’t hear from them in a reasonable time, you may call them at (208) 665-1300.

Activities this year will not look like they have in the past. We will plan most activities out in the open with plenty of space. The rally room will be limited to those required to make preparations. Inclement weather will cancel activities; not move them inside. We will have more free time instead of group activities. I’m sure there will be other things we need to consider; stay tuned. The bottom line is we want everyone to feel safe and comfortable. If you have concerns or things you think we should be considering, drop us an e-mail.

Hope to see everyone at the rally.

We have been on the fence about committing to this, This may be controversial however hate to book with the likleyhood of event cancellation, especially considering the average age of camper and the clear fact that this pandemic will be ongoing. Would it not be prudent to maybe try and reschedule to allow more time for this virus to run it course. Not much is going to change in 60 days, I do not see group congregating being acceptable anytime soon (that writing is on the wall), the threat will still be there. So many here preach trust the science and science is clearly saying stay the current course and to avoid social events. It is one thing to open a small business it is another to group 100+ 50+ year olds in a gathering even if outside, can't imagine it even being allowed.

I'm not a rally person, so I really don't have any grounds for an opinion, but shyness has never stopped me before. Maybe in 2 months things will be clear sailing, maybe opening things up too soon will set off round two of elevated infections. I gather people come from all over to these get togethers. What happens if only one attendee crosses paths on the way with a carrier and unknowingly passes it on to say 25% of you? I guess you can still revel in you had a rally. I hate being cooped up just as much as the next guy, but I can make it several more months and still proclaim sanity.
