2020 Quartzsite Montana Circle Lanyard Making Workshop
Once again Kristi has volunteered to give a workshop on making and/or remodeling lanyards that carry our rally name tags. I don’t know when this tradition started, but you now see these pieces of art show up at all MOC rallies from east to west. The Quartzsite rally has been unique because of the availability of the huge assortment of beads, rocks, local minerals, and anything deemed cool enough to hang around your neck.
For those of you that are new to the Quartzsite rally and don’t know about these lanyards, it’s something we wear around our necks that holds our name tags. We generally wear them at all of our gatherings. You will receive a name tag at check in when you arrive. It will include a standard neck string holder (BORING).
Over the last many years, Kristi has accumulated an assortment of these trinkets while at Quartzsite, Tucson, Mexico and ??? for these lanyards. And several MOC members have also donated some of their collections to add to this grouping of artistic accoutrements.
At the workshop, Kristi will supply pretty much everything. There will be a $5.00 charge to help her pay for supplies and future purchases. If you have something special you want to add to your lanyard, bring it. And if your present lanyard needs a little remodeling, stop by also.
The workshop will be held within the circle on Wednesday the 15th at 10am. Bring a chair and we may need a couple of extra tables depending on how many people show up. There’s no need to respond or sign up, just show up.
