Frame Problems & Hitch Type

This is just a curiosity question. I have seen a number of posts about frame weld failures. I am curious if those who have experienced these problems had hitches with 4 way swivel or only 2 way. I notice in my mirror when going over uneven ground, there is a lot of sideways rotational movement between my truck and my 5er. One particular place in the storage facility, there is a shallow drainage ditch to be crossed at a slight angle. The side to side difference between the truck and trailer amounts to several inches as I cross it. My hitch has 4 way swivel. But I can see where a hitch with only 2 way swivel would put a lot of stress on both the hitch and the trailer frame, no doubt causing the frame to flex a lot. Over time, I can see where that would cause frame problems.

BB TX, I am having problems with my frame and I have always had a 4 way swivel hitch.

I had a flex problem on our previous rig, it was a 05 Mountaineer 298RLS and we have a 4 way swivel hitch. I think that Keystone had the frame changed in 06. The overhang in front was shortened about 18". I may be wrong on the exact measurements.

I, like DDHenry, have always had a 4-way swivel as well and my 2003, 3670RL had frame cracks on both the driver's and the passenger's sides. I now have a Trail-Air suspension on the kingpin--but that is not what cracked it!

My next question was going to be if the frame problems were limited to longer units. But Larry having a problem with his 298RLS answered that question.
