I made it out of angle iron for the most part. The shelves are thin high grade plywood. The legs are welded to pipe to wall plumbing fittings and screw to the floor. It really is a simple thing to make.

I mounted my reel in the compartment up front where the generator would be, since I don't have a generator this location works great. Mounted it as far left as I could and still have clearance. I still have plenty of storage space in the compartment.

Nuthin' fancy here. Just a plastic hose holder from HD about $6. Easy Peasy.

I don't have the real estate for a cord reel, so I bought the Mega Clamp Cord, available from Walmart. It makes handling the 50amp cord a lot easier after coiling/wiping.

How about using a 30’ piece of 3” plastic conduit running the length of your trailer mounted underneath like you do for the sewer hose? Next week I’m going to see if it’ll work.

Has anyone used the cord reel available from Harbor Freight?

Great idea!! A couple of thoughts (since my Montana is still in off-site storage)... 1) Will 3" diameter be big enough? 2) Watch axle clearance, allowing for axle movement while going down the road.

Yes I’ll carefully be checking that. We have some left over 3” grey conduit so I hope to try it Monday , weather permitting.

I have a cargo carrier on back and I mounted a hose hanger (just an old metal water hose hanger) and I leave mine attached and coil it over the hanger, wrap a couple of bungees around it and hit the road. Maybe I’m missing something but why go to the trouble of stowing it underneath? Is it for security? Mine is parked at my home in the country so I’m not worried about it getting stolen. Road security?

My though was so I wouldn’t have to coil it up, toss it in pickup or basement, in cold weather uncoil the “spring” anaconda. Just simply slide it in the tube under the trailer.
Still thinking about it.

I've been struggling with this one too. Seems like lots of people toss it in the back of the truck, but I would prefer to keep it with the TT. I know ... The truck is with the TT, so why worry, but that's just me. And, like to keep the basement and other storage spots as clean as possible. It really wasn't much of an issue until we got into a wet site near the end of our first trip and then it was a muddy mess.
All that to say ... There are some great ideas in this forum. I'll have to evaluate which might work the best for us.
Thanks all for sharing.

Here’s my simple solution to the 50 amp power cord storage.
And before you comment on my front jacks... they are not bent, it’s photo distortion.
The 3” tube runs front to back with no clearance problems, it is actually higher than the spring hangers. At the end there is a 4” long piece bushed out to 4” to allow the male end of the cord to fit perfectly and then capped off. It works very well for me and does not waste any basement space and is very convenient to use.
If you try this make sure you fasten your hangers onto the cross supports and not screw into you water tanks. I used self tapping screws like was used to support the underbelly.
To the right of the tube is our blue boy (black as per wife’s suggestion). It is strapped up with a ratchet strap then chained as double security.
Two of many of my modifications.

Now that is genus. Do you push it in or pull it in form the front. I would try attaching a top on the front end so that when I put it away I can simply attach the rope and pull it into the tobe. Or am I missing something?

I just push it in from front, very easy to do . The back end ends up against rear stabilizer jack
(The tube has a cap on it) and because it’s against the jack it cannot slide out or come apart.
I did shorten up the cord about a foot but since I have an extension there is no problem with the length.

Mor Ryde makes a wind up reel for the power cord that can mount in one of the compartments.
