My dealer cautioned me to be careful not to extend to far out, as it stresses those cables. So far we have had no problems, course we just have the smaller bedroom slide. Sorry you are having problems with yours. Unfortunately, a majority of dealers do not have mobile repair capabilities and quite a few mobile RV repair shops will not do warranty work unless under an extended warranty plan.

Sounds like you got one that was adjusted not at the factory or someone at the dealer thought they knew what they were doing. If you download docs on the system, it is clear that the setup needs to be done correctly. Next to us in abq is a keystone passport ultra lite trailer, all of 20 feet plus. Both top cables on his street side slide are hanging in a very big loop...ie, not even adjusted right by the factory. Good luck with yours. My warning to you is to download the docs and understand what your dealer should know before they do the work...then maybe you might want to nicely inquire about their skill about doing it. John

I'd call Keystone Customer service. In some circumstance they have authorized a mobile RV Tech for warranty repairs.

Dick, you beat me to it again! I was just going to key in and say the same thing you did.
I'd be calling Keystone Customer Service, report what is happening and get a file started with them. Tell the Service Rep what your dealer has told you and since it is set up in a campground you cannot retract the slides to take it to the dealer as they request. See if Keystone will authorize a mobile tech to come out and take care of your problem or if they will contact your dealer or another one close that does do "house calls" to see if you can get it taken care of!

WHAT??? How can you extend a slide too far, unless you take off all the interior trim and remove it completely? If you don't extend it all the way you won't have a seal.

Explanation from the dealer, In or out, any slack left in the cable after the slide stops can tighten to the point where it stresses and can eventually pulls the cables out of the slot in the slide. I notice with ours, when the bed mattress touches the cabinet, the motor basically stops. Same going out and slide is open. But I can still hit the switch and get more movement out of the cables. So I am careful about that.

The majority of dealers are just not set up for "House calls" If you explain the circumstances to Keystone Owner relations they well probably authorize a Mobile service to come out.

Would not do it for me when our 2015 refrigerator failed after three months.

Had a slide-out problem 5 years ago with 2010 still under warranty, and couldn't retract. Best I was able to do was get Keystone to reimburse me for the mobile tech I hired so we could continue on our trip. They sent me a check after my dealer appealed to them on my behalf.
There seems to be a lack of understanding by Keystone customer service that one cannot tow a fifth wheel to the nearest repair facility with the slides out!
