Warranty work

My Montana is a 2012 purchased in Nov 2011. We have used it once. I took it to the dealer that I purchased it from Saturday to have the warranty work done on stuff that didn't work or failed when we used it during spring break. I wanted to ask one question. What would you think if they said "Most of it should be covered under warranty, if there is something major that isn't we will call you." Here is the list.
1. water heater wouldn't work on gas
2. strong smell of LP in passenger side LP storage around tank
3. dryer vent, that they installed, came unhooked from dryer
4. kitchen slide trim hangs on floor and pulled the trim loose
5. wood trim around both entry doors is bowed out not attached
6. outside light in front never has worked
7. electric stabilizer hangs on the motor when you raise it up all the way and won't come back down

Being only a few months old, that should be a no brainer, everything should be covered, major or not.

All items except for wear items (brake shoes, etc.) are fully covered by the warranty. If the dealer says otherwise, contact Keystone directly.

Agree, should be a no brainer. Take in your warranty to show them too just so you have something to back up your claim that it's under warranty even though you shouldn't have to if they have any credibility.

I'd call Keystone customer service now and ask them if those items should be covered. When they say yes, tell them what the dealer said and ask them to contact the dealer. That should be their job. By the way, when I had a propane leak in the storage area it turned out to be that Keystone over threaded the black pipe that runs across the front storage area. If they did that to you on either side there will be a small leak where the connecting nut can't reach the end of the threads to seal properly. Keystone repaired it under warranty and didn't argue.

All covered, as long as you have not passed your warranty period

Should be no problem. The light (led) just above the pin box works only from remote when security mode is used.

The LED is working. The one that doesn't work is the one on the wall just above the the battery compartment. I tested it and the switch is bad. I started to pick one up while I was at camping world but decided the dealer should deal with it.

They must use pretty cheap switches in that light. I've only used my light a couple times since we bought ours and the last time out my switch failed also.

We forget that Made in America doesn't mean that every single American has the same pride, respect and workmanship at the lowest pay possible than the person cracking the whip, and just wanting the rig off the manufacturing floor, now!

That's a heck of a list. Even mine was not that bad when I bought in 2006. But now after six years and everything else is either working or I can fix, I am very happy with my Monty. Hang in there and I hope after everything gets taken care of, then all will be much better.

That just isn't right taking that long for them items. Dealer seems to be dragging his feet. Looks like a fire needs to be lit under there...... well you know what I mean. Let them know your not happy and that you have an outing coming up and you plan on going on that outing with a ALL repaired trailer. If they balk on that call Keystone and see what they may do. Its not uncommon to have to push these dealers into a corner to get things done. There a lot of good dealers out there, but there is also a lot of terrible dealers out there. Make them work for you!!!

Well they called Wednesday and said it was ready. I got there this morning at 0900. Went through the list and everything looked good. I signed the paperwork and hokked it up. Then I realized that the dryer vent wasn't on their work order. So I put the slide out and opened the cabinet to look. Guess what. It wasn't hooked up. They put a guy on it right away and I helped him pull it out and put a metal clamp on it. I suggested running a self tapping screw in also just for opiece of mind. We got it back in and I was on the road in less than 45 minutes. I just spent the day washing and cleaning an I am very happy now. I think the dealer did ok. They are one of only 3 or so service departments for the entire Wichita area so I am sure they are busy. They had rigs in all 5 bays and the lot is full. Overall I am pleased and can't wait to get out again.

Looking back on my "list" we had 22 items to be repaired by the service center when we took the 06 3400 in at 11 months old. That is 22 items that we did not or could not repair on our own.As usual the service center guys did more than was on the list. Since then among other things we have had 3 holding tanks leak with two leaking now.Our graphics that held up well for 5 years are now shrinking and peeling. We had some issues with the front pin box area and they beefed it up

We have no complaints with the level of service by Keystone and the dealers. Every concern we had was taken care of. They could do much better on the level of quality control and attention to construction details but that is a industry problem.

We are in the process of purchasing a 2012 3402 Big Sky. Believe me we looked hard at other brands in the price range and IMO there is nothing any better
out there .The last 6 years of Fall rallies in Elkhart in the center of most ALL the plants and we have toured every brand in the area was a eye opener in terms of how much these things are alike. We stay with Montana as we know the product and have confidence in the service and IMO a great bang for the buck.

We have no other excuses..
