Propane HP regulator on crossover pipe needed.

Last year I removed the red 30PSI regulator because it was making so much noise, I just couldn't figure out what the purpose was anyway. I got to thinking about it again the other day and presented the question to others on the Keystone forum. I am a retired plumber and inspector so that being said, I got an education. It is there due to the distance from the opposite side tank to the two stage regulator. The explanation is that at certain temperature the propane can change back to a liquid state when it travels longer distances than it would by side by side tanks, and this could introduce liquid into the regulator which could damage it. I couldn't find a way to attach the PDF file that really explains it in detail but it is on the Keystone forum here: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?p=221222#post221222

That regulator has been discussed (and cussed) a few times here, including this discussion.

Some have eliminated them with no apparent problems. And some of us have replaced them with exact replacements.

That pdf file you mention is the best explanation of the reasoning I have seen. Worth the reading for those who question the need for it.

It's easy to replace and then you don't need to be part of the debate.
