Leaking antenna

I just noticed a few drips from the antenna in the bedroom. Is this common? I have to acquire a ladder to get up there and check it out. Not sure if I will have to replace the whole antenna or just some gasket around it. Is it a tube through the top of the coach? Any one else have an issue like this. Just started raining up in the north bay.

There is a rubber cap over it that has come loose in the past for me. I placed it back down and use a small amount of caulk to seal.

Most common place for a leak is the antenna wire. You will see a small rubber boot around the wire pressed onto the antenna housing. The boot seems to work it's way up & after a while dries out & cracks. On past campers I have cut away dried out boots,& sealed up the wire with self leaveling caulk. Also check the seal around the base, you may see cracked caulking.

It has a rubber boot on it that can come loose or crack and leak. Replace or reseat the boot and then use Dicor self leveling caulk to seal it in place you can get Dicor at many hardware stores, all RV dealers and even Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Pack-Dicor-Sel...ng+lap+sealant

If you don't have any sealer and the boot is still pliable, put a wire tie on the end that seals around the coax itself. It will hold it in place.

There is also rubber o-rings on the shaft that raises and lowers the antenna. There is a requirement to lube it once a year with silicone spray to keep the o-rings from drying out. This is done by spraying lube on the plastic gears from the top. Also remove plug on top of antenna housing and spray into hole, which lubes plates and makes it easier to turn antenna from below. Been there done that. As stated I bet it is the boot over the pipe that the shaft for the antenna goes though.

Thank you for the responses. I put the leveling chalk on yesterday. Hope it had time to dry.
