Sleep number bed

Does anyone with a 3750FL have a Sleep Number mattress? We tried to have one installed and the mattress won't push the drawers in when the two slides come together. Any suggestions?

What sleep number do you have? We have a 3850FL and have a Sleep Number RV premier king and do not have a problem. If you have a Sleep number that is thicker than 10 inches, that may be the problem?

Close the drawers by hand... true, don't have a front living room model, don't understand why you would want the mattress to close drawers. Reminds me of a union worker's reply when I inquired about cleaning a spill..."not my job". John

The 3750 and 3850 use the bed to slide and compress the dresser beneath the wardrobe. It is not closing the drawers, the bed actually moves the dresser in about 8 inches (it is a neat spring mounted arrangement). The mattress height is the limiting part, the bed platform in conjunction with the mattress is what compresses the dresser. When we elected to put our Sleep Number in, I measured the OEM mattress height and emailed Sleep Number to get the actual height of the mattress to make sure it would work.

The king size mattress we have on now overhangs the bed platform by 8-12 inches. the solidness of the mattress pushes in the drawers. The Sleep Number mattress we want to install is the same length as the king, but is much softer, therefore not able to close the drawers.
The folks at our local camping world have suggested putting an extension piece on the bed platform. I think they may be right.

It sounds like the bed platform was made for a queen size bed. Our king platform is the same size as the mattress (OEM and RV Sleep Number). I would not put an extension piece on the bed platform, I would make them put the proper one on for a king bed option!

How tall is your mattress, and do you deflate it when traveling in areas where the altitude varies.
Glad to see you folks are Christians, so are we! Praise Him!

Mattress is actually about 9 inches tall, even though the specs from Sleep Number say it is 11 inches. We are on the east coast and there is not that much altitude difference (a couple of thousand feet) that would affect air pressure like in the Rockies, so we do not adjust. We like ours really soft anyway and typically only inflate to 35-40 on the digital control. And welcome to the forum by the way and thanks for the confirmation!

Try inflating to 100 for travel. you can always deflate when its time to sleep. the added pressure may solve your slide issue.

And thanks to Bingo for the great info on the front living room models. See, you can teach an old dog! milsutter, for travels we pretty much reduce settings down to 25 just to be safe. On our trip from florida up through nashville tenn, we forgot and found the mattress was pretty hard...but it didn't get to the point of having too much air and causing an issue. By the way, you may find that passing low pressure systems can affect your comfort setting. John
