First Montana / 2016 3000RE Legacy
Howdy,
We just ordered our very first Montana, a 2016 3000RE Legacy. We'll get to pick it up around the end of January (2016). Having owned previous campers we've learned that none of them are perfect and they all have their issues but that's just part of it. We looked at many different brands and models before making our decision. In this price range and product class we were most impressed by the Montana.
Oh, and thank you to all the wonderful people that make the MOC forum possible, it's a great resource. Happy Trails!

Welcome from W. Ill. Great info here. We will be picking up ours about the same time. Hope you got the G614's from what I've read here.

Welcome aboard and hope you enjoy your Montana as much as we have enjoyed out two. Might I suggest you go to the Forum mainpage and click on the PDI suggestions. You will find some excellent lists of PDI(PreDelivery Inspection) and read them over and take at least one of them along with you as a checklist of what to look for while the dealer goes through the PDI tour. We also took our video camera with us and I taped most of the PDI explanations in case we had any questions when we took it out for it's "maiden voyage"! Enjoy and hope to meet you down the road. If you can arrange it join us at the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally (CPRR) that will be coming up in July this year here in Nebraska. Watch for further posts about it starting in late January or February.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! We're very excited.
Greg, we did go with the G614's, and that because of what we read here on the forum. The calendar sure goes by slow when your waiting for a new camper doesn't it? LOL.
Rondo, that's great advice on both the PDI list and the video. I'm going to read those threads right now, thank you for the suggestion. We'd love to make one of the rally's, we'll do our best to try to arrange one!

Gregg, I just noticed something...
DW and I bought the smallest Montana, you and Cheryl bought the biggest Montana, and we both pick them up about the same time. Sounds like we have the 2016 year model covered. :-)

Question: do all the new Montanas come with the "in command" system?
I saw a thread on it here and then read about it online.

Congrats on the new Montana. We were down to the 3000RE and the 3160RL for our final two choices when we got the 3160. We have been real happy with our unit and only a few minor issues. Do a good walk thru/PDI and then take a few local trips to shake it down and hopefully nothing significant comes out of it. Enjoy

Looking at the new Montanas was like picking a puppy. We wanted to take them all home. From past experiences we do expect to have a couple of gotchas with the new rig but we certainly want to iron them out as quickly as possible. I copied the PDI information from the site and we plan on following it when we pick up the rig. Good idea on local camping to shake out the kinks so we'll do that too. We appreciate all the good advice!
