5th wheel electric cord hanger
Dear MOC do-it-yourselfers,
Do any of you have a unique way of hanging your 12-volt trailer-truck connecting cord on your kingpin assembly when unhooked? I am tucking into the kingpin assembly now but i know there is a more convenient way of doing this. If there was a large threaded hook, i could put into the existing kingpin assembly but i can't find any such animal that would work.
I will probably have to make something but thought if someone already had an easier way, I would try it.
Thanks!

This will probably be a disappointment, but for the last six years with the old rig and now with the new one I just drape it over the front of the MorRyde pinbox where it has a front lip. Then over the top of that I drape the emergency disconnect that I have inside of a piece of plastic tubing to keep the cable from getting caught on things while driving.

Like Dick, I just drape mine a couple times over the front lip of my pin box.

I tuck mine into the back of the pinbox. I read about people shorting out the cord, so I cut a tennis ball and slide it over the plug before tucking it in.

I drilled a small hole in the back flange of the pinbox....big enought to slip a key ring thru it and use a cheap caribiner. Open the caribiner and loop my cord on it.

We tuck ours into the back of the pinbox and wrap the emergency disconnect around the MorRyde pinbox. I do have a cord holder somewhere that I have not put on the pinbox yet. I has to be around somewhere, I just don't know where!

Drape over pin box like others, but always make sure plug hangs down and does not touch any metal.

Stuff mine in the pin box. Nothing scientific here.

Another draper here. Just go over the pinbox and tuck it through itself underneath with the plug hanging down. I try not to overthink things!

In the back with the cord and around the king pin frame for the brake cable.

I coil it into a roll and tuck it behind the wiring from the junction box. I have closed off the opening in the kingpin due to so many bird nest evictions.

At the recent WR Spring Rally, I saw two solutions. One is where a member took a piece of aluminum, bent it at a 90 degree angle, attached it to the pin box and mounted a Bargman plug on the on it. The other was a very simple rubber cap that goes over the end of the Bargman plug. I bet you could find that on Amazon somewhere.
I do have pictures but they are not very good. If you are really interested, I can point you to the two members.)

Some things are better kept simple and not over-thought or over-engineered. I stuff it in the back of the pin box simply to keep it dry.

My same question fauch! What is there to short out unless you have a back feed on your power cord or you've rubbed or loosened on of the wires from the junction box. Can someone explain this to this old fart!
