Hydraulic Pump Failure

We have the Montana 3731FL. Our front jacks started slipping and our rig started lowering, had a repairman come out and disconnected the hydraulic pump to the leveling system so it wouldn't sink any further until the parts come in. Are the slides connected to that hydraulic pump system as well, if so, how can we bring the slides in without it. Elsa might be headed our way and we can't move our rig because it has sunk too low to get our truck under it so we thought if we brought the slides in it would minimize its profile a bit. We just don't know what else we can do.

Can you reconnect the pump? If so, use Bottle jack to level it up and you will have access to the slides.

Not sure why the Tech would disconnect the Hyd pump for LG or leveler legs that wont stay extended. That would have been either an internal bypass on the LG legs themselves or a Hydac valve that isnt closing properly..

And YES.. if your slide outs are hydraulic then they are also connected to the hyd pump and reservoir system....

If you have to move, I would reconnect the hydraulic lines and run it.
Download the Lippert NOW app from Google play store. It has the procedures for manually operating the pump, slides and leveling system.

forklift or backhoe

See if there is a company or construction outfit nearby that would be willing ($) to offer a half-hour time that could lift the front end of the Montana, have plenty of wood to build up the hitch to the height of the pick up.

hyd help

If you are at a park ask neighbors for help. We all help each other. Also, look at your hyd system and see how many round black knobs there are. That should tell you how many systems it operates.

Check your battery. While stopped for propane refill, I noticed our rear landing gear slowly drop to the ground. They wouldn't stay retracted...we were stuck not able to move., Thinking we needed a new jack, I called a camping world tech who discribed a similar problem he fixed by simply charging the battery. Apparently, if batteries not fully charged, landing gear will not stay retracted.

If the pump will run the slides then the pump is not the issue. I had an issue with my slides moving out on their own. After messing with the pump i figured out it was a bad cylinder.

It sounds like one of the cylinders are leaking by allowing the jacks to move. It's not the pump.
