More concrete

I can't stand it...We need more concrete..We live on a residential street.It is 24 feet wide curb to curb.Our Drive way entrance is 19 feet wide and the truck and camper are 56 feet long. No matter how we bend it we are over our tree lawn grass or on the across the street neighbors tree lawn..We need to straighten out the piece in front of the truck down to the sidewalk and add two feet on both sides of the driveway entrance..This thing is long.

Lucky we live 3/4 of the way down a cul-De-Sac and there is no traffic down here during the day. Helen and I had the camper out on the street doing back in's this AM and we have it figured out.We need 8 more feet of driveway on the blind side(that's the side we have to back from due to other obstacles on the other side) and straighten out that area in front of the truck then it is a smooth shot in..We will when finished have nice helicopter pad.Life flights flight path to Cleveland Metro is right over our house. perhaps I acn lease it as a emergency landing pad????

I don't think a 19 ft entrance would be enough for me.

What I did is install a 12 x 110 ft drive with a 25ft off-centered front entrance. Street width is just over 19ft.

As I start my backup I drive the trailer tires just to the edge of the 25 ft entrance and follow the curvature into the main driveway.

I often wondered if I could get a 2400 in. Might take more than the 25 ft I allowed. My biggest problem is not hitting my neighbors mailbox. I have come within an inch or 2.

I bought my neighbor a new mailbox with the TT we had before this one and when we lived in the city.

It was a tight fit with our TT and short bed Chevy truck.. If this truck was a Supercab short bed I think we would be OK. We have lots of driveway it is just getting in that is not working. At this point full timing does not appeal to either of us. When we do sell the house it will be a RV'ers/Boater dream..Dump station, 50 Amp service, biggggg driveway. Actually what we will have when completed is a off-centered entrance to the driveway.Looking at our picture we are backing in from the left side and the camper is where it is for moving in.It will normally set @ 2 feet to the right and 40 feet back

My wife told me once I got our RV port done along beside my workshop that I have a parking lot that is 120 feet long and 60 wide, only gravel though.

At least your neighborhood allows you to have it. My HOA are a bunch of snooty people, and we're lucky to be allowed 48 hours in front of our house.

How much concrete you need? I got more than I need. It's 17 feet wide by 70 feet deep. It has 50 amps, sewer, and water. The road out front is 50 feet wide. When the Mormons developed this part of the world, the roads had to be wide enough to turn your wagon around. They still make the roads that wide.

I just park that baby right infront of the house. I gave all the neighbors 3 weeks notice before I brought it home that they would need to trim their trees. I live on one of them streets that every house has 4 trees along the street, and the all meet in the middle. The county code requires you to keep 17' of verticle clearance, most of the neighbors trees do not even clear the garbage truck. I told everyone I needed 14' (to be safe) and more than enough time to make it happen. Heck I even said I would come and trim the branches, they would be in charge of hauling them away. Well sure enough the day came and down the street I started, did not get passed the 2nd house. So up on the roof I went and I cut each and every branch that was in the way. The neighbors came home that night to nice neat piles of branches at the end of their driveway, needless to say I was not the popular one on the block that summer. To bad I say, I asked, I offered to do it, and I gave them 3 weeks!

Actually we are not allowed to have it out front like that 72 hours is the limit. It is a city ordinance that is not hardly enforced. The camper has to be behind the front edge of the house that is why there is over 40 feet of driveway behind the camper

We can't even have it in our yard, if there was room. The convenants are just completely out of control. I think that most of our HOA think they are a heartbeat away from the presidency.

C5racer..our driveway is longer and wider that yours and if we had that 50 foot wide street we could do a 360 on it.You have more driveway along side the house as you can get your slide all the way out.Our main slide is higher than the roof line of the house.The slide comes out 37 inches and when we are all the way over on the drivers side the camper will go all the way back but the slide can only come out @ 27 inches. Can't pour anymore concrete as the driveway is now on the property line///

We need to widen our drive...I wish we could just park it beside the garage but it is just a bit to narrow..we need to buy the empty lot next to us...but the owner wants more than we want to give...

Rich, be glad you have more than 6 inches down the side of the house. When we come home after our trips, I park our Monty along side the house and from back to front there is only about 6 inches to the eave. As far as the street footage, the city ordinance here is 24 ft max for a residence. Just practice, practice and practice some more, you'll get it!

Rich, have you considered moving the house or at least that one wall about two ft?

We have 200 acres here with a 16' county road in front of the house. My driveway is only 12' wide uphill about 100 yards and has an S curve to get to the cement pad. Takes a little practice but good training for those hard to get into RV park spots.

Rich, the real fun starts when you have to back that long baby into some of these camp grounds with the narrow streets. After you and Helen get back from months on the road you will not need to add any concrete. It will be a breeze to back that baby in.

Well we will keep trying. It seems that no matter where we position ourselves on the street we can't swing the long truck and stay within that 24 foot curb to curb. Can't be running the truck up on folks tree lawns. We can jack knife it in the driveway but when we swing the truck around..tree lawn..

Rich I think you need to invest in one of those fifth wheel dollies that are motorised and just use that the dropit in that hole.
