A/c air filter

I need an 11x 11 air filter for my a/c. We were in some very dusty/dry conditions and now there is not much flow. I can’t find that size anywhere. Any ideas? Can they be washed? They are the paper (?) type like in a home, not foam. Thanks!

I cut filters to size from material I buy at Home Depot. Same for the registers.

Is there more than one filter per unit? I’m cleaning the one in the ceiling, is there one on the roof or anything?

1retired06, when you say you cut your filters for the registers, are you referring the heat registers? If so, may I ask the reasoning? I have not heard of this.
