Hanging Items in 5th Wheel

I have a 2021 3120RL, and my wife wants to hang some stuff specifically in the bathroom above/behind the toilet. Seems like there is a stud located basically right in the middle of that wall behind the toilet, which I'm thinking I could get a wood screw into. Does anyone know if there is anything else that runs behind that wall? Also have you had luck with wood screws or should we just try to stick with command strips, etc.... Appreciate the help and insight...

I have had good luck with command strips unless you are doing something heavy.

The wall behind the toilet is full of wiring going to the interior control panel.

We use command strips with great success, and had no problems removing them. I would not recommend using screws anywhere in an rv. If for no other reasons than resale value.

I put screws in the studs to hang 2 hooks for towels behind our toilet. Just make absolutely sure you go directly into the stud. A good stud finder and a tiny drill bit helps a lot.
Command strips everywhere else, but a wet towel is too heavy to hang on those.

I've got four command hooks in my bathroom for wet towels. They are on there 2nd 5th wheel with just new sticky strips.

Second on the wall behind toilet full of wires. I recently had ran additional lighting wires through that wall and it is loaded with wires . I would not be poking anything through it unless you are positive you are in a stud.

There are command hooks for almost any situation. You may need two or get the real heavy duty ones. Noy chancing nails or holes anywhere where I didn't remove one first.

Command hooks. Be sure to clean with alcohol before applying them. I have had quite a few hooks come loose before I started doing that.

I would certainly echo the use of command strips. We have fairly large mirrors and pictures that stay on the walls going down the road. Just check on the weight tolerances of the command strips before purchasing them.

Might be a stud, but maybe not. I have suspected that there is a vent pipe that might run in that general area, so unless I could confirm or deny that I wouldn't drill any holes.

X2 on the potential for a vent pipe in that wall. Last thing you want is to puncture a vent pipe especially a black tank vent pipe which is very likely to be near your toilet.

Great point on the vent pipe. In my case, I could see staples in the wood stud in the wall through the drywall, so it was pretty apparent that it was a stud. Try using a magnet if you can't see the staples.

I have used Togglers for 1/8" hollow doors. Drill a hole through the panel board without going deeper than the board itself. Insert the nylon toggle which will expand when the screw is inserted. I cut the tip of the screw if I am concerned about how deep it will go. Each Toggler holds over 100 pounds.

I hung this behind the toilet and just used self adhesive Velcro. Works good. Stays on while traveling. See attachment

I didn't think they used anything but aluminum studs in our rigs??

I use 2" velcro squares. Buy it in a roll. We have about 14 wood and canvas pictures hanging. Still hanging after 6000ish miles.

Only on the exterior walls. No aluminum in the partition walls inside. Also, wiring will be where the electric panel is located. Be careful hanging anything heavy with Command strips, because the constant weight can cause the plastic coating on the wall boards to separate from the wood, especially on exterior walls due to heat.
