2014 3155 question

I have a “winterize” lever in my Convenience panel. But I also have a hose hookup for just winterizing. Trying to figure out what that lever would do either on or off. Assuming I hook the hose up to my antifreeze and the pump pulls it through. I have a separate bypass lever for water heater. So not sure what this winterize lever would do.

When you flip the "winterizing" valve, the water pump switches from sucking water from the fresh water tank to the winterizing hose. When flipping, the fresh water tank is off and the winterizing hose is on.

Flip the water heater into by-pass so you won't be sucking 6 or 10 gallons of antifreeze into the water heater.

FYI, it's often asked how do I pump bleach into my fresh water tank to sanitize it. Well, once you master the winterizing process, you can use the winterizing method to sanitize your water lines also. Just add a cup or two of bleach to a bucket of water, and suck the water up through the winterizing hose. You can also add bleach to the fresh water tank this way too.

When you turn the valve that bypasses the water heater, the valve turns off water to the water heater tank. Along with the check valve on the hot water outlet of the water tank, this allows you to remove the anode to drain the tank and keep it dry when you winterize the rest of the plumbing of the rig. That way, you do not need to use antifreeze in the water heater tank. I am attaching a drawing of the plumbing at the convenience center which is drawn as looking from the rear wall where all the lines are located. The blue lines through the valves are the normal water flow positions.
