Good Sam Lifetime Membership?
Became a Good Sam member a couple of years ago. So far the discounts at campgrounds have paid off. Received an email from Good Sam offering a big discount on a "lifetime membership". Any lifetime members out there? They quoted $200 off the "regular" $499 cost.

We do not buy lifetime memberships. Is lifetime membership theirs or yours.

I think I got in at the time they were just starting lifetime membership. Must be over 30 years ago or more. I guess I have saved well over the cost in annual dues.

Well when we bought our washer/dryer from them they offered us a 3 year membership. If we got the membership the additional discount on top of what we already were going to get, paid for extending the membership and then some.
If we had a lifetime membership we would not have gotten that deal.
check to see if you get any additional discounts for being a lifetime member.

Good Sam had a special on at the Phoenix Good Sam Rally in 2012 for $199 so I calculated how many more years I would be using Good Sam and I figured it was a good deal and bought it. Looks like I'm going to do okay on the purchase.

Depends on how many more years you plan on traveling. To some a great deal and to others a rip-off.

We must have got ours at a good time. It has paid off very well for us. I agree it depends on length of time and amount of use that makes it worthwhile.

I occasionally buy something from CW. But usually comparison shopping on the web and I end up buying elsewhere. Would take me a long long time to recoup the membership fee. I don't even buy the annual membership any more.

We got ours about 7 years ago and have got our money back. We also got it on a deep discount. Since we use the Escapee mail service and we have to be Escapee members to own our place in NM we are also Life Members with them. If I had it to do over again I would probably only be an Escapee Life member, but who knew.
