tire pressure monitors

would like to hear any experience good or bad with tire monitoring systems. I tried a couple 10 or so years ago and was not very satisfied with either. I decided to try one again after a tire failure and as usual did not know until someone pulled up next to me and pointed it out.

We have been using them since 2006.Would not leave home without one. My guess is that if the TPMS did not alert you to a low PSI condition or high temp condition it was not properly set up.

There are those here who use a number of different brands such as TST, Tireminder, Tiretracker, Pressure Pro, EEZtire, and maybe others. And I can't really remember anyone being dissatisfied with any. I do think TST is probably the most common one used by those here. and is what I have.

Went from Pressure Pro to TST flow thrus a number of years ago and wouldn't tow without them. That said, I did have a 614 blow up on me without warning and a strip of tire took the monitor apart on the tire behind it so I lost two tires instead of one.

Pressure Pro for us across two Montana and 12 years RVing. Easy straight forward setup and real good customer service.

Preparing for cross country trip leaving this week. Spent a hour or so today changing batteries and checking out tireminder. It has saved me twice with leaking valve stems. Would have never known until bad things had happened. DW keeps a close check on it while we roll.

I have the Tire Traker and I wouldn't recommend it.
The other day aired up all the tires, TV & RV, monitor said everything was A Okay, next morning Right Front TV tire was flat as a pancake, yet the monitor still told me it was at 71 PSI. Guess that sensor is bad, but at least the TV was just parked at the site and not out on the road.

Very happy with TST 507 system. The new color monitor is fantastic. Not only the safety aspect of the system but no longer bending, removing cap, checking pressure, re-installing cap. Now I back up and turn the system on 5 minutes before hitching to see psi in each tire.

Years ago when we purchased our first used Montana I got the TST 507 system. I did so based on recommendations from others on this forum.

Over the years I've had nothing but excellent service from it. I have moved it to 3 other RVs. Just last spring I needed to add several sensors so I bought a new TST system but saved and used my old 6 sensors. Six year old sensors and brand new sensors all work great! Like someone else said, the new generation color monitor is nice also. It is a little bigger and brighter. It will hold a charge for 3 or 4 travel days so I don't have to have a cord ran across the dash to it.

The sensors shut down when there is no movement. They are activated when in motion to save battery life.
