Our search begins

Hello there! We are so glad to have found this site! Five days ago, we happened to be at a rv dealership and saw our first Montana Unit. It was "love at first sight" for both of us. Never seen any camper so well made & beautiful! Now we are on a quest. Can't stop thinking about it! We picked up a brochure and visited the Montana web site. There seem to be some other floor plans that we may like better. Just yesterday, we purchased a Ford 350 with dual wheels. It's 10 years old but in very good shape and well maintained. We would really like to find a RV dealership with more models to look at. There is only the one unit in our city and one dealership in Richmond that we can find that sells Montana. We are willing to travel a bit! Any ideas on where we should start to look? Also--is there a book with all the models and prices to go along with them?

It's been exactly one year since we brought our Montana home. What a fun and exciting year it's been! We have visited Pigeon Forge, Orlando, the Virginia mountains and Williamsburg, VA many times. There are so many wonderful people we've met along the way. Owning our Montana has brought some great times to us already and we are extremely satisfied with it. We have only had to take it in once for a couple of minor problems and our dealer has been excellent. We have been able to spend some quality time with our family in it and also had some great times alone together! Everyone here on the forum has been very friendly and helpful to us. Thank you all! We are really looking forward to the rally next week so we can meet some of you in person! Wish everyone could be there. We are so happy to be a part of the "Montana family"!!!!!!!

I am so Jealous but happy for you guys.. We went to KC this weekend to go to the Midwest fall show at the Speedway. A little hint.. Dont bother.. They had two monty's and a bunch of "stuff" there. The only other unit we are the least bit interested in looking at is an Alfa "see Ya" 5er.... Doesn't seem to be one in the entire region. Nearest Dealers in Tx and on the front range... Sigh..
At any rate, we did get round to look at a few dually trucks..
Found a really nice Chevy Silverado, but after putting it through it's paces and getting the bottom dollar from the salesman there at the dealership, we discovered that it isn't 4x4... Duh. Swung south all the way to Wichita on the way home, (It's just a little out of our way... right?) and pulled into the lot where we first saw a 3295... and there she still sat!!! We were much more thorough going over it this time, found a hole in the bedroom vent lid (looked like a rock hit it), and also found that the pedestal under the bed is cracked out in a couple places. Is that normal!? Storage under there seems to be THIN...What's up with that, and can that plywood be removed? SELL HOUSE SELL!!!!!

Finally--There is a very large and lovely Montana parked in our driveway. It's been a long two months since she was ordered! We brought it home last night in pouring down rain and a good amount of traffic. No problems though (except a bit of time & trouble backing her in). We camped in the driveway last night and enjoyed every minute! We did notice a little bit of wet carpet next to the slide in the bedroom. Hopefully, this was just from bringing the slide in during a rainstorm. Do we need to dry them off before retracting? Don't want that kind of problem! Our salesperson, service manager & owner at Southern RV in Richmond, VA have been outstanding. The walk-through was pretty thorough and all of our questions were answered. We hurried with the outside workings of the unit because of the rain so we still have a bit to figure out for ourselves and probably have to ask some of you all for help. We had hoped to bring our gear in & arrange things today. We didn't get finished though because of so many guests!! When the day was done, Bob said he felt like a salesman at a RV show!! He is happy and proud to be a Montana owner and had fun showing it off!
