I just plug in to the bumper plug in. Use a little wrap on the tail gate to make sure the cable does not go where I do not want it. Yes, get any of the top brand spray on liners. I like LineX better than Rhino. Keeps things where you put them and no scratches. Your bed will look nice for a long time.

I like your choice of truck.
