did you hear?

Hi All,

Was told today by my salesman at CW that there is now going to be a 3 to 5 month wait on new Montana's coming out of the factory. They are working on a 100 day back log. Hope nobody has order a trailer from keystone. Might be a little while to receive your unit.

Sorry to bring you all the bad news.

I sort of have a general rule about not taking anything from Campng World, including their opinions.

That is about right as you can see from my first post in new members i put my down payment on my 3761 back on 5/6. They told me mid or end of July as they were still shut down. Latest ETA as of last week is 2nd week of August. A few good things is its now a 2021 with the upgraded axles, springs etc. I guess it will be worth the wait.

Talking to a friend of our's that wants to get a 5th wheel and he said that they were quoted a price, came back a month later and the same unit still sitting there was $8500.00 more then they first saw it. Not a Montana brand, but full body painted unit sitting at our dealership that been there for a while the price on that went up also.

Travel trailer are selling like hotcake's. Go figure!

I figure the OP is right. From talking to various RV sales folks and buyer/owners the slowdown in manufacturing and the uptick in sales due to folks not wanting to be exposed has created a backlog for anything that might be ordered. The RV dealerships I've been to have had fairly good inventory but the the customer traffic appeared to be brisk. Thankfully I got ours just before the panic hit.

Totally agree! I don't trust anyone with CW in the outhouse with a muzzle on.

The good news is if any of you are selling right now, you might get a better price, because people want to get out and travel, and flying to different countries, or even being on an airplane is risky, so they are snatching up RV's. The problem with that, is they are not, and have not been building new rv parks, so getting reservations will even be more of a pain. Plus 3-5 years from now, if it is back to normal, many of these fair weather RVer's will be dumping their RV's on the market, and so our value of our rigs will go down when we sell to buy a new one, etc.

Good Sam has reduced the cost of their roadside assistance platinum plan $20.00 to $139.00 for 5th wheels. You do have to take the $139.00 plan to cover 5Rs now. I'm not overly fond of Marcus Lemonis, but the plan is good.

I'm not a fan of Marcus' views on some things. I have to admit that his business model surpasses any other RV dealership network that I've dealt with...but I push. And his view of providing good customer service is far superior to SO many individual owners that I've met/dealt with - dealing with an individual in a CW dealership is entirely different. The thread is not about Camping World but wanted to throw that in since it has been commented on multiple times. JMO/YMMV

I like Camping World. They have a 100% Customer Satisfaction policy if you know to ask. Are they humans? Sure.

I already commented in this thread but thought it worth mentioning.

I agree I was very happy with service and treatment at CW Grand Rapids. Also visited one down near Hammond LA. The lady in the store offered to pick up a part 100 miles away for us.

The normal delivery time on ordered units had been around 8 weeks. The Rv manufacturers and vendors have been slowed by the impact of the virus. We have two RV dealers very near by and both are seeing a higher than normal sales .

We have never purchased a RV from CW simply because they did not have what we wanted, as far as pricing that depends of the buyers skill on negotiating and knowledge of pricing. We purchase from CW when they have what we need.

RV's Boats and ATV's are at the lowest dealer inventory stock in decades. They are commanding a premium because with all this covid. People are looking for things to do locally. Wait 2 or 3 years the used market will flood with used Adult Luxury toys.
